Sarah Newman, princess of the lanes
Junior onslaught on the lanes

Fresh from her debut State team performance, Newman kept an intense lead all through to claim her second title.  She kept in front of three other juniors vying for their first title.

Even a 204 second game (51+ ave) she only held a slim lead by 23 pins. A series of 573 held a 113+ pin win over brothers Bradley and Shaun Bourne.

Sarah who holds a record 7 finals appearances stakes her position as the princess of Suits and Boots. She is third in all time titlists, is third in all time pinfall, holds most consecutive games over average with 15 and is currently unbeaten on 10 and holds other awards in this competition.

For the Bourne brothers they just had a day that was always going to happen. Their improvement has been impressive over the last 15 months yet in 'Suits' they just have not been able to hold three games together.  Well now they have and good on you both.  Now you've made your first finals appearance, we should see more in the future.

Closed Frames award
Newman came from behind to claim the award by 1 frame over Leonard Bourne (dad) and Kirsten Ford who both had 23.

Perfect 900 no tap series
This almost went off today.  Newman had the first two games perfect and her run ended on the 24th frame with a 6.  Her last shot in the 10th was a 7 count after a spare.  She is the second player to have had two attempts in 'Suits' history to claim the jackpot.

60 pins over average
This almost too went for the first time.  Anthony Mallia rolled 55 pins over average with a 216 in the second. An open frame in the second did the damage.  Newman's 204 in the second was 51 pins over.  This will sure be claimed soon.

Beat the Coach
What a nail biter this finish was.  inform bowlers Newman and Mallia were always going to step up to Coach Garvin.  This was the case.  An early 4 bagger to Mallia gave him a 30+ pin lead in the fifth and Newman too was right up with Coach. Holding his nerve, Coach doubled the 6th and 7th due to a lucky Brooklyn, gained a small lead over Newman and bridged the gap to Mallia given he had also opened a frame.

Coming into the last frame Mallia closed leaving a 188 score with Coach on 153 in the 9th on a spare. An 8 count and a spare left Coach on 179 with a shot to go. Then on the last shot, a pocket strike beat Mallia by a pin.
